Governance & Leadership
Executive Breakfast - February 9, 2012
On February 9, 2012, the Institute for Enterprise Ethics hosted a gathering of twenty senior business executives, independent directors, corporate advisors and university faculty at the Daniels College of Business on the University of Denver campus to discuss the challenges and opportunities of building a culture of candor in their organizations. The discussion was led by Professor James O’Toole, the Daniels Distinguished Professor of Business Ethics at the Daniels College of Business and the author of the Harvard Business Review article on the same topic: “A Culture of Candor."
Following Professor O’Toole’s opening remarks the participants engaged in a wide ranging two-hour discussion of candor, transparency, trust and honesty in board rooms and executive suites. After the discussion adjourned two of the participants provided some additional observations in an interview for the Institute. Professor Dennis Wittmer moderated the interviews.
